UK guide

The best Bitcoin newsletters for UK readers.

Most 'best crypto newsletter' lists are written in the US, for US readers, and are mostly about altcoins. These are the ten actually worth your inbox if you care about Bitcoin and live in the UK.

One of them is ours. We say so, and we didn't put it first by accident.

The two that cover what actually affects you here.

OursWeekly, FridaysFreeLondon6,000+ readers
Frequency
Weekly
Price
Free
Read time
5 minutes
  • The five stories that mattered this week, explained the way a friend would
  • Written from London, so you hear when a UK company adds Bitcoin, a UK lender takes it as collateral, or Britain's biggest broker finally caves

  • Weekly, so if something breaks on a Monday you'll read about it on Friday
  • No charts or price analysis; it's a read, not a terminal
Full disclosure, this is ours. It's the one we'd read if we didn't write it: the week's big stories, a UK angle nobody else bothers with, and done before your coffee's cold.

How to build a reading list that works

1

Pick one UK source

That's the one that tells you about HMRC, the FCA and UK companies. Everything else assumes you're in Ohio.

2

Add one Bitcoin-only read

Bitcoin News Weekly if you want the week's gist, Bitcoin Breakdown if you want it daily, The News Block if you want the bigger picture, Pomp if you want opinion.

3

Add macro, data or policy if you need it

Lyn Alden or The Informationist to understand why. Checkonchain to understand where we are. BPI if your business is regulated.

4

Stop at three

Four or more and you'll read none of them. The best newsletter is the one you actually open.

Important: Nobody paid to be on this page, including us. None of these links are affiliate links. We read every one of these each week and will refresh the list every quarter.

Why UK readers need a different list

A US daily will tell you about the SEC, the Fed and spot ETFs. It will not tell you that HMRC changed the rules on pooling, that the FCA has updated its promotions regime, or that a FTSE-listed company put Bitcoin on its balance sheet. The big newsletters are excellent at what they do. They are just not written for you.

How we chose

Bitcoin-only wherever possible. Then consistency, original analysis, how useful each one is if you live and pay tax in the UK, and how much of each issue is sponsored noise. Subscriber counts informed the list but didn’t decide it.
